Job summary

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Unit Manager for our Nursing unit.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of exceptional service user care, fostering a supportive team environment, and driving continuous improvement in our nursing practices.

Main duties of the job

  • Supervise and manage nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and professional development.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance staff performance.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service user care to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized service user care plans.
  • Address service user and family concerns promptly and empathetically, ensuring a high level of service user satisfaction.

    Job responsibilities

    To provide operational support and report to the Deputy Manager to deliver a high quality service by ensuring a high standard of care and support is delivered to the service users in the unit and to raise the quality in all aspects of the service provided.

    Prepare and maintain up to date records for compliance purposes e.g. Data Protection Act, Care Quality Commission.

    Be aware of your responsibilities under the Health and Safety policy, taking all possible steps to ensure a safe working environment Implement and adhere to internal and external policies and standards e.g. Department of Health, Care Quality Commission, Health and Safety Executive, General Social Care Councils Code of Conduct Implement and maintain the required level and quality of care/support in line with external care standards and internal guidelines.
