Job summary

Due to ongoing projects and increased demand, we are looking for an individual who is experienced in their current role to join our team as a Senior Screening Officer on a secondment. You will provide support to a team of up to 13 Screening Officers but will also work together with all of the Senior Screening officers across Leeds and Preston to deliver the service needs on a daily basis. You will support the operation by ensuring work is processed in a timely manner to achieve the department targets and provide coaching, training and support to you colleagues and team.

This role is based at the Lister House office in Leeds.

Main duties of the job

Providing support and advice to Screening officers on a daily basis

Delivering training and updates on SOPs and changes to process

Working in conjunction with Team Managers to ensure the delivery of all KPI's

Supporting with the allocation of work and tasks

Deputising for the Team Manager where required

Carry out administration duties

Cascade feedback and communication across operational teams

To assist in the efficient running of the Cervical Screening Programmes according to the national Cervical Screening Programme. To maintain the accuracy of clinical and demographic information in a specialised database (The NHS Information Authority National Screening Programmes Exeter System) including the upload, processing and validating of large batches of clinical results and the resolving of any discrepancies or anomalies in the data. To prepare, quality check and distribute all printed material associated with the Cervical Screening schemes within national and local timescales and audit requirements. To provide advice to customers of the service and the wider screening teams.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of general education 5 GCSE or equivalent including Mathematics & English.
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Understand principles of population based screening programmes in the UK.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of using Microsoft office systems including Word, Excel and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, NHAIS, Open Exeter or other IT systems as a key part of a day-to-day role.
  • Experience of customer case handling and administrative processing experience in screening related or other key services where customers and achievement of defined SLAs are important.
  • Experience with the NHS and Screening work backed by internal training. Knowledge of National and local guidelines, protocols, SOPs.
  • Experience in analysing and interpretation of complex data.
  • Experience in using and relational databases and analytical tools.
  • Experience working as part of a team ideally in an information setting.
  • Excellent communication skills (internal and external customer focus) including an excellent standard of written and spoken English.
