Job summary

Want to help make a difference to our patients requiring the services of our Breast Screening team? Then we have the opportunity for you to join us as a Deputy Office Manager.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide the highest standard of patient care and deliver an efficient, high quality service for those invited for Breast Screening.

You will act as a deputy for the Screening Office manager, working alongside them to ensure all general office duties are carried out, including training and supervision of the office staff, including appraisal and daily supervision within the office. You will also assist the manager in the smooth operation of our 3 mobile units which move to around 8 sites and 2 static screening sites.

We provide services across Mid and North Essex at our Chelmsford and Colchester Breast Screening Units where approximately 114,000 women receive an invitation. This post is based at Colchester Hospital, however travel to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford will be required and travel to Breast Screening Unit locations may be required.

This post is full time to be worked Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

You will deputise for the Screening Office Manager, including providing assistance to the Director's of Breast Screening, Programme Manager and Lead Radiographer.

You will ensure all eligible women are invited for routine Breast Screening within 36 months and advise on the appropriateness of a screening appointment or if a referral elsewhere is required.

In this post you will carry out office duties and provide supervision for office staff within the Chelmsford and Colchester Breast Screening Units. A large part of this role will be developing and providing training to office staff in the use of the dedicated breast screening computer system and other patient information systems.
