Job summary
As Directorate Manager for Head and Neck Services, you will work with the Directorate Heads of Department and Matrons to lead the development and delivery of Directorate performance within the Division of Surgery, Anaesthetics, Critical Care and Theatres to deliver high quality, patient focused services.
This will be achieved through close working with the Divisional Management Team and triumvirate to ensure optimum levels of performance in line with corporate objectives and evidence based best practice.
Main duties of the job
The Directorate Manager is responsible for:
Leading the Directorate in delivery of the overall Trust vision and objectives as set out in the Trust's annual Integrated Business Plan.
In particular, the post-holder will be required to ensure that programmes are identified and managed to improve the service provided to patients. This will lead to improved performance in national benchmarking and in patient survey results.
The post-holder will also work to ensure their services are seen as the first choice for residents of the Fylde Coast and beyond, where appropriate.
The post-holder will be responsible for delivering financial balance within their area of responsibility and for the management of cost improvement and cost control programmes to support the achievement of balance.
The post-holder will ensure that staff are fully engaged in the process of change management, and in particular, that Clinicians are fully involved at the forefront of service improvement projects.
