Job summary

The Network Manager will lead on the management and co-ordination of the Fetal Medicine service and take the strategic overview in the planning & development of the service throughout the East Midlands region. They will provide advice to commissioners on the most effective provision of Fetal Medicine services and be the leadership link for commissioning input to commissioners. The role includes ensuring appropriate links to other adjacent services to ensure developments are consistent.

The aim of the Network is to coordinate patient pathways between providers over a wide area to ensure access to specialist resources and expertise. Working alongside the Clinical Lead and the Lead Midwife, this role will provide direction and leadership to clinicians, managers and commissioners working within the Fetal Medicine Services. They will coordinate the running of the Network, develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and ensure positive communication and data sharing between Service Providers and Commissioners.

The post holder will line manage the administrative position and the Network Lead Midwife, be willing to travel in able to build their knowledge base in the Fetal Medicine service and relationships across the region.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for management leadership with the Lead Midwife, delivering the Fetal Medicine Services through collaborative working with provider organisations and commissioners.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in all Network Centres and commissioning across the East Midlands region.
  • Coordinate and fulfil a key role at EMCHN Board meetings.
  • Provide management support to the Lead Midwife.
  • Coordinate and support any sub-groups required to undertake specific items of work or provide local opinion.
  • Produce a communications strategy, to include engagement with relevant Strategic Clinical Networks, Academic Health Science Networks and charitable organisations.
  • Take full line management responsibilities for the individual team members including; managing sickness and absence, grievances, disciplinary issues and delivery of training.
  • Coordinate the provision of local information, data and intelligence to support performance monitoring and the strategic development of the service e.g. key performance and quality indicators.
