Exciting leadership opportunity within the NHS North West Genomic Medicine Service Alliance.
Base: North west based. Home based working with frequent travel to MFT and additional regional and national travel.
The North West Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (NWGMSA) works across national and regional partnerships to ensure patients benefit from the advances in Genomic Medicine, including genomic testing and world leading clinical services and personalised treatment. As the genomic medicine transformation team for the North West of England the NWGMSA works in close partnership with patient groups, clinical teams, provider organisations and regional teams.
The NWGMSA has a diverse portfolio of regional activity and has a team developing and improving clinical pathways, a skilled workforce through engagement and training activities, leading regional genomic data and digital transformation with a strong community and patient engagement focus throughout.
About you
We are seeking an exceptional data & digital leader with a robust background in data analytics, ideally within the healthcare sector. Your passion should lie in the transformative potential of genomics to redefine patient care and outcomes across the NHS. With a demonstrable track record in leading successful collaborations across digital teams and with leaders at both regional and national levels, you bring a strategic approach to the digital enablement and optimisation of genomic services.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for delivering and refreshing the GMSA Data & Digital Strategy and Roadmap
Participate within regional ICB digital governance advocating and advising on interoperability of genomic services.
Provide support and advice to NW GMSA directors to deliver regional genomics digital strategy
Promoting and advocating genomics data standards through participation in NW and national networks
Collaborating with provider and regional information governance leads to ensure delivery of the GMSA strategy for digital transformation.
To clearly communicate insights from data analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences through reports, presentations, etc.
Research latest technologies and advise GMSA leadership on system interoperability, data analysis and visualisation, artificial intelligence and digital platforms. Keeping up with innovation and best practices.
To work to integrate genomics strategy into regional ICS informatics structures, representing the NW GMSA where appropriate.
Support the Genomic Medicine Service to develop its roadmap for digital architecture, to meet regional need.
Provide advice and leadership of digital and data workstreams for the NHSE Genomic Network of Excellence in Pharmacogenomics and Medicine Optimisation, , ensuring informatics work packages will meet project need, influencing of and alignment to national strategy and is capable of future scale or learning is transferred.

THE NORTHWEST GENOMIC MEDICINE SERVICE ALLIANCE
The NHS has established seven Genomic Medicine Service Alliances (GMSA) to provide equitable and consistent access to genomic services across England. The Alliance will build on the world leading work of the 100,000 Genomes Project which was the first in the world to use whole genome sequencing in clinical service on a large scale and the Genomic Medicine Centres which delivered this project.
The prime purpose of the Alliance is to provide equitable and consistent access to services, working across the Northwest of England geography.
The Northwest Genomics Medicine Service Alliance was formally established in January 2021 and includes executive leads for NHS providers and regional professional leads from across the Northwest. The organisations will work in partnership to support the embedding of genomic medicine for its population.
