Job summary
The post-holder is responsible for providing day to day secretarial and administrative services employing advanced audio typing skills with the use of medical terminology. The post-holder will be required to follow policies and procedures and communicate effectively as appropriate.
The post-holder may be required to assist/supervise junior office staff as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
Medical SecretaryClinical Gastro Department30 hours per week Band 3 We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our friendly Gastroenterology team based at Wythenshawe Hospital. You will be responsible for providing secretarial support a consultant and their team; including typing, tracking of medical records in and out of the department, photocopying, adhering to referral processes, booking of patient appointments and other general administration and secretarial duties.
You must be hard working, possess good oral and written communication skills, have good computer skills and be flexible to the needs of the department. Previous secretarial experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, would be desirable. This post is varied and extremely busy and we therefore seek a pro-active, self-motivated person with good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
