We are looking for a dedicated Healthcare Support Worker in a full time Maternity cover, for 12 months within Eyford Day Unit at Cheltenham General Hospital. You will become a valued colleague at GHNHFT with your development needs being supported by a robust induction.

Additional contract details: Maternity cover for 1 year

Additional working pattern details: Monday to Friday 0800-18:00; Saturday 0800-18:00 once a month

Main duties of the job

While it is desirable that candidates have appropriate recent care experience and have completed the Care Certificate, previous care experience is not essential, and training can absolutely be provided for the right candidates, so if you have the qualities we're looking for and share our values, please do still get in touch!

You will play an essential role in supporting the delivery of the highest standard of quality care to our patients, working alongside registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. Your role will include a wide range of tasks, from providing personal care, specific Ophthalmology competencies i.e. admitting/discharging some post operative cases, eye drop instillation and undertaking clinical observations. You will be required to follow rigorous policies such as infection control and manual handling policies. In addition, you will be providing emotional and practical support to patient and their families.

Desirable
