Job summary

Queen Square is looking to recruit a new Senior Nursing Clinical Research Practitioner to our Queen Square Clinical Trial Centre (QSCTC). The QSCTC is a collaborative model that aspires to optimise delivery of clinical trials across Queen Square. There will be opportunity to work with colleagues throughout the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), at the Leonard Wolfson Experimental Neurology Centre as well as the Joint Research Office for UCL/UCLH.

This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Please note if your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly. Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of clinical trials within the division - covering commercial, non-commercial and international streams. We are looking for motivated, flexible individuals with an attention to detail to join our team. Experience with trial set-up or working within trials units or similar environments will be beneficial.Our vision for the centre is to develop and grow the team to deliver research to patients within NHS, accessing newest treatment opportunities in neurology. This role will support this vision and have opportunity to influence the delivery of this long-term goal.

Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse Part 1, 2, 12
  • ENB 998 or professionally recognised equivalent teaching course.
  • Completed/working towards degree in the speciality or related field

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 4 years post registration nursing experience
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in Clinical Trials.
  • Experience of formal/ informal teaching of patients and staff
  • Experience in delivering evidence based practice
  • Experience working as a preceptor/facilitator
  • Experience of phlebotomy, cannulation
  • Experience of administration of investigational drugs

Desirable

  • Experience of working with neurology and neurodegenerative patients.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates ability to take charge and delegate duties
  • Demonstrates evidence of professional development
  • Proven knowledge of ICH GCP guidelines
