We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated individual to the role of Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse for the Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC). This is an exciting opportunity to start a new service within the Emergency Services Division, as part of the NHS long term plan to provide a same day services 24 hours a day for all speciality patients.
Main duties of the job
The SDEC is a 38 trolley space providing care for all speciality patients for the trust. The unit is operational 24 hours per day, 7 days a week and is designed to facilitate rapid assessment and investigation of speciality patients referred from GP, NHS 111 and the Emergency department. Our Urgent Treatment Centre for minor injuries and illnesses is also part of the SDEC and you will be expected to work in all areas.
Those who need hospital admission are streamed to either The Acute Medical Unit or specialist wards in the Trust or externally.
