Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the North London NHS Foundation Trust as the Director of Nursing & Quality Governance.

The post holder will lead on the quality governance agenda including all aspects of quality, safety, compliance and audit across the Trust. This will involve providing expert advice and leading the development of policy and strategy in related areas. The post holder will work in close partnership with managers and other healthcare professionals both across the Trust and external to the Trusts, to facilitate the delivery of a high quality effective clinical care.

Main duties of the job

This post will report to the Chief Nursing Officer and will work alongside the Director of Nursing for Patient Experience & Professional Development, as well as the corporate Medical Directors and Deputy Chief Operating Officers.

The post holder will provide vision, professional leadership and strategic direction to professional and non-professional nursing staff and Mental Health Workers across the Trust. You will advise the Chief Executive and the Board of Directors on all aspects of patient safety and quality governance.

The Director of Nursing will take responsibility for providing strategic leadership ensuring an effective legal services function including preparation for Coronial inquests; effective systems for management and learning from claims; and control of legal services expenditure.
