Band 3 Therapy Assistant
Ambulatory Specialist Palliative Care Team - Woodlands Hospice
37.5 hours per week
We are seeking an enthusiastic therapy assistant with specialist palliative care experience or transferable skills to join our expanding therapy team based at Woodlands Hospice. The team consists of a Therapy Services Manager, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and a Band 3 Therapy Assistant. You will also work closely with the wider Specialist Palliative care teams.
Under the new IMPACT Model the clinical aspect of your role will involve Inpatient and Outpatient work within the Hospice, Community outreach work, and input with palliative patients in the acute trust when necessary.
Ordering of equipment, data collection and use of patient booking systems will also be integral to this role.
Your own vehicle and a full UK driving licence will be required for this role.

Main duties of the job
- To work closely with the occupational therapists and physiotherapists to assist them in their treatment of patients either in conjunction with the therapists or independently following their initial guidance
- To optimise the quality of life for palliative patients and help them achieve their goals through a caring, timely and appropriate interventions.
- Order equipment for patients, ensure it is clean and fit for purpose and fit and check this equipment in the patient's home when appropriate.
