Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced and adaptable BPC registered adult psychotherapist or ACP registered Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to be involved in sustaining and developing Tavistock and Portman one year courses: Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy (D12/eD12) and Psychodynamic Reflective Practice in Mental Health (D65).
The post involves substantial teaching, tutoring, marking and interviewing as well as responsibility for operational aspects of delivering the course.
Within the Division of Education and Training, the D12 Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy is the foundation level course to our adult psychotherapy cluster of professional training programmes and is suitable for those wanting to deepen their understanding of mental health issues or for those who wish to take their first steps towards a clinical training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy or psychodynamic psychotherapy.
The D65 Psychodynamic Reflective Practice course is also a one year course, either for those who have already undertaken an introductory course in psychotherapy or counselling, and who want to gain further understanding while extending their experience of mental health work in order to be eligible for clinical trainings, or for more experienced mental health professionals who are interesting in developing a psychodynamic framework within which to understand their work at a deeper level.
