The QSI (former ISAS) accredited Radiology Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals (NNUH) has a great opportunity for an Imaging Deputy Operations Manager to support the Radiology Service Managers, Operations Managers and the Imaging modality leads, in the Imaging services timely delivery of operational targets.
The Imaging department is experiencing high growth, demand and requests for new/extended services along with strategic plans for expansion underway. To align to the Trust's vision and five-year plan we are looking to recruit an Imaging Deputy Operations Manager with proven management and leadership skills who is keen to work in a patient centred, highly technical department. You will be required to operationally lead teams of enthusiastic modality leads, utilising their skills to develop a dynamic Imaging department.
The Imaging Department consists of sites at both NNUH and Cromer Hospital, along with the NNUH Community Diagnostic Centre planned to open in February 2025. The NNUH is recognised nationally and internationally for the quality and range of services provided. Our Radiology Academy is one of the three academies nationwide and offers excellent opportunities for training and research. We are working closely with the Norwich Radiology Academy and University of East Anglia to develop these further and encourage sub specialisation in key clinical areas.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be working with a multidisciplinary team of Radiologists, Registrars, Allied Health professionals (AHPs), Nursing and Imaging support, admin and clerical teams, who all input into the daily operational activities of the department. They will be expected to provide professional leadership and management within the work environment, be responsible for the standards of care provided within the Imaging service and for supporting the implementation of innovative practice, while utilising change management skills.
The ideal candidate would have experience of working within an Imaging department or healthcare setting with multidisciplinary teams, involved in achievement of both local and national targets and experience with change management and oversight of multiple projects
You will work closely with the Operational team, Governance Lead, and other Imaging modality leads considering the 4 pillars of the Imaging department service delivery under, Workforce, Governance, Performance and Finance.

- To support the Imaging Service/Operations Manager in the provision of patient centred care and a culture of continuous quality improvement.
- To work in conjunction with modality team leads overseeing collective Radiology service delivery from modality related projects, plans and workflows
- In partnership with clinical colleagues ensures that activity, cancer, booking/ choice, access (including relevant aspects of A&E) and quality targets (covering in-patients, day patients and outpatients) are achieved having regard for Trust policies and procedures, and to develop action plans to manage any variances;
- To support the Imaging Service/Operations Manager and Modality team leads in the achievement of objectives within the Radiology performance framework, ensuring that approved budgets are spent effectively and in accordance with agreed procedures;
- To support the Imaging Service/Operations Manager and Modality team leads in formulation of operational plans and ensure that these contribute to the achievement of Divisional plan and are supported by benchmarking and capacity planning models.
- To work closely with the QSI and Clinical Governance team. Ensuring all National requirements for imaging services are met.
