Staff Nurse - Paediatric Critical Care

Job summary

We are currently looking to recruit into vacancy in our Children's Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU)

Within Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) we house a 14 bedded PCCU with both intensive care and high dependency beds. We care for children under a wide range of specialities , working closely alongside the Children's Medical Emergency Transport service for the East Midlands region.

PCCU provides an essential service for Neurology/Neurosurgical; Spinal/Orthopaedic; Oncology/Haematology; Respiratory; General Surgery and Rheumatology as well as paediatric renal services for the region. Thisallows staff on the unit to be actively involved with kidney transplants and hemofiltration.

We are supported by the PCCU Education Team and have a well-established foundation programme for those nurses who want to join us as newly qualified nurses.

We are happy to accept applications from both experienced and newly qualified children's nurses as well as experienced adult registered nurses that can demonstrate experience in paediatric settings. To be considered you must be willing to undertake further children's specific training and development packages.

Nottingham Children's Hospital is set within the vibrant city of Nottingham known for its many historical sites and lively music scene. The children's hospital is housed within the Queens medical centre campus and has 116 inpatient beds across 8 inpatient wards covering all specialities, with many of our specialities being regional centres as well as two neonatal intensive care units -one based at our City hospital campus.

We have an innovative Preceptorship programme to support newly qualified staff during their crucial transition period from student nurse to registered nurse as well bespoke support for those joining our teams.
