Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset are looking for a full time Lead Manager for Workforce Systems.

Duties will include:

  • To lead Workforce Systems Service and teams, ensuring provision of responsive, customer focused, high-quality, cost-effective services to the Trust.
  • To drive the teams to deliver high standards of performance against agreed KPI's.
  • To identify opportunities and drive for new and innovative solutions to workforce challenges, utilising and developing the functionality of systems and technology and realising return on investments in line with the Trust's strategic vision.

Base Location: Yeomans Way

Main duties of the job

  • To apply specialist experience in the design and development of the Trust's Workforce Systems Strategy.
  • To apply advanced levels of skill and expertise in leading the delivery of trust-wide programmes of work to realise these strategies in support of the People Plan.
  • To provide advanced subject matter expertise in relation to cross-trust workforce systems day to day application, dependencies and benefits realisation e.g. advanced roster management, ESR
  • To contribute to and shape relevant broader NHS cross-Dorset strategies.

Essential

  • Leadership/Management course to degree level plus post-graduate diploma or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Evidence of continuing training/learning on specialist workforce systems and processes to maintain and enhance essential technical skills and competencies.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualified

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience at the level of masters (or equivalent experience) in day to day utilisation, dependencies and benefits realisation of key workforce systems within a complex NHS Acute Organisation.
  • Significant experience in leading workforce systems functions within a complex NHS organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with a complex range of clinical and non-clinical stakeholders both internal and external.

Desirable

  • Experience in a role that involved cross-NHS system working
  • Experience of Workforce Planning methodology and reporting

Technical Skills Competencies

Essential

  • Excellent IT skills, ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel to a good level.
  • Expert knowledge of ESR and Health Roster.
  • Expert knowledge of how the systems are used and how benefits can be realised.

Desirable

  • Skilled in use of Image Now

Knowledge

  • Demonstrable and highly developed knowledge and understanding of current local and national workforce systems initiatives and issues.
