Student Nurse Associate - Band 3

Trowbridge Community Team

37.5 Hours per week but part time Hours would be considered for the right candidate - 2 year Fixed Term Contract

Here at Wiltshire Health and Care we are very excited to announce the development and expansion of our community services in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and a number of strategic priorities for community health services to transform our out of hospital care.

We are boosting the response capacity within the existing community teams to provide a dedicated resource across each of our localities within Wiltshire.

This growth within our services and investment has enabled us to expand our teams and recruit additional Nurse associates to our core community teams.

If you love working in a community setting and are looking for a new challenge, then as part of our development of community services we are looking for either qualified Band 4 Nurse Associates or band 3 looking to develop and complete the Student Nurse Associate programme to support our community teams.

As a SNA you will be expected to attend University for a day per week, and although you will be based in 1 community team, you will need to undertake 6 short placements at an alternative location over the two years. You will be supported to learn on the job by the healthcare team and a dedicated work based tutor.

Main duties of the job

We are proud of our staff and support career progression so if you successfully complete the 2 year training course, and become registered, you will be offered a permanent job as a nursing associate. Once established in this role, the opportunity for further training to become a registered nurse may also be possible.

In this role you will be expected to provide and deliver high standards of nursing care in partnership with a Registered nurse, working with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.

You will link closely with colleagues including general practitioners and other members of the multidisciplinary team to support excellent nursing care at home, reducing the necessity for acute hospital admission.

Apply now to join our team and help us to deliver our vision to improve health and wellbeing by providing high quality care.

You will need to demonstrate 12 months caring experience, achieved an NVQ level 3 or equivalent, Care Certificate as well at Level 2 or grade C at GSCE in English and Maths.

Training will commence in January or February 2025.
