Job summary
We are looking for an individual who loves working with people.
GP Receptionists are the first point of contact for patients who come in to the Surgery or who contact us by telephone. We want someone who will make them feel welcome, supported and will be able to give them all the information they need.
We are therefore looking for clear communicators who are able to read protocols and follow them and have an interest in keeping up to date with service changes and information updates.
GP Receptionists are also pivotal members of the Practice team and so working well with colleagues will be important - being able to take instructions, understanding risk and when to see the help of colleagues will be important skills to have.
Accuracy, ability to follow instructions, flexibility and problem solving skills are all attributes that make a good GP Receptionist.
Main duties of the job
The role is 4 hours per day which will all be spent on the front Reception desk dealing with staff and patients within the Surgery as well as taking telephone calls from patients and other services.
The role involves a lot of multi-tasking, telephone work and dealing with patients and colleagues.
The Surgery is due to relocate later this year (500m) from the current site.
Please see the job description for further details.
