We are looking for experienced Low Intensity Mental Health Workers to join our team, due to post holders being successful in gaining training places on the HI intensity CBT course. These posts would suit PWPs with experience of working within primary care and an interest in providing low intensity interventions for clients presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

A component of this post will be to conduct initial telephone assessments with people referred to our service. It is also expected that the post-holder will be involved in the provision of low intensity psychological interventions supporting and helping people who are not yet able or ready to engage in systematic 1:1 high intensity interventions. Aspects of this post are the administration and teaching of psycho-educational classes. In this service there is also a particular emphasis on providing a service that is accessible and useful to all and takes account of the very diverse needs of the many communities in the city; skills, experience or a special interest in the area of diversity would therefore be advantageous.

You must have a professional qualification associated with mental health and significant experience associated with work within a Primary Care setting with a wide range of Mental Health conditions. In house supervision is provided. Some evening work is an essential part of this role. You will manage your own caseload.

Tyneside Integrated Musculoskeletal Service is an alliance between Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Gateshead Hospitals NHS Trust This post is with Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, however the post holder will be expected to work in clinics across Newcastle and Gateshead.

We provide a range of services to people living in Newcastle upon Tyne using a Stepped Care framework of service delivery. As well as providing one to one psychological interventions through our varied workforce we also provide a range of educational and group based psychological treatments. The service experiences considerable pressure on resources and we are constantly working to meet these demands in the most innovative way. To do this we require a skilled and motivated staff group.

We deliver our service through pathway teams, each led by a Team Lead. The complex musculoskeletal /pain pathway is multi-disciplinary and includes clinical psychologists, pain consultants, physiotherapists and low intensity mental health workers.
