UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS OF LEICESTER NHS TRUST (UHL)

Respiratory and Cardiology Trust Grade SHO (FY2 Level) Doctor

Due to expected high demand for Winter Pressures we are inviting applications for Trust Grade Doctors (FY2 Level) to commence in November for 4 months with a possibility of extending to 12 months thereafter in both Respiratory Medicine and Cardiology Services.

The Respiratory Medicine, and Cardiology departments at Glenfield Hospital are one of the largest in the UK and these posts enjoy all the benefits that a large prestigious teaching hospital offers. The department offers MRCP PACEs teaching, weekly cardiorespiratory tutorials, journals clubs and Grand rounds.

The posts benefit from alignment with one of our Consultant firms on a base ward which has at least 4 junior doctors as well as a registrar where you will look after patients with a variety of general and specialist respiratory and cardiology conditions including pleural disease and heart failure. You will be expected to participate in the delivery of services within the department working on both base wards and in our Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU), and Coronary Care Unit (CCU) giving you opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in your chosen Speciality.

The posts are full time and involve working on a Full On Call Rota attracting an allowance.
