Sirona Adult Supported Living Services consists of 3 Community Resource Centres and 5 Extra Care services which are based in Keynsham, Bath and Midsomer Norton.

Each Community Resource Centre includes a residential care home for between 30 and 45 people and provides care & health services in a safe environment for older vulnerable adults with a variety of disabilities including dementia.

Each Extra Care Scheme provides 24 hour support to 30 tenants to live independently in their own homes within the community.

In all of the services, the needs of service users include support with some or all aspects of daily living, including personal care, activities and maintaining contact with family and friends when required.

We are looking for two Support Workers to join our Extra Care Scheme in Bathwick, Bath to work 17.25hrs, 17.75hrs and 18 hrs per week.

Weekday Rate (Monday to Friday):

£7.58 - £9.01 per hour (dependent on experience)

Weekend Rate (Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays)

£11.36 - £13.56 per hour (dependent on experience)

The Post Holder will:

•Promote and maintain a supportive living environment to meet the needs of vulnerable older adults including those with dementia.

•Assist in providing support with daily living activities in accordance with the individual resident’s care plan.Examples may include:

  • Helping with planning and organising activities for residents

  • Helping people to maintain personal hygiene

  • Assisting in the provision of care during illness and at end of life

  • Supporting people to maintain good nutrition and hydration, assisting them to drink and eat as necessary.

•Act as a Key Worker to a number of residents and to take a lead role in assessment and care planning for those users

•Assist in monitoring the general health and well-being of residents for any signs of deterioration or changes in their well-being and report to the senior member of staff on duty.

The role involves a rota system which includes early (starting at 7.30am or 8am) and late shifts (ending at 9pm or 10pm) and working every other weekend and some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid.

This is a challenging but rewarding role. Previous experience of working in care would be desirable, but a commitment to deliver quality care is essential.
