A unique opportunity has arisen in the Maxillofacial Laboratory/Prosthesis Clinic at The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for a Trainee Maxillofacial Prosthetist/Reconstructive Scientist.

We are seeking an experienced dental technician, with a passion for Maxillofacial prosthetics that wishes to complete an MSc in Maxillofacial Prosthetic Rehabilitation (distance learning) at Kings College London. (This will be funded by the Trust)

You will need to be either already a student on the course, or have been accepted for the next cohort at Kings. You will have at least 2 years post BSc in Dental Technology experience, be highly motivated, enthusiastic and able to work as part of a team.

We are a busy Maxillofacial Laboratory, and an accredited training centre for the National School of Healthcare Science as part of the National Scientific Training Programme (Reconstructive Science) . We produce a wide variety of Prostheses, for many specialties across the Trust including Plastics, Ophthalmology and ENT. We have the full suite of Materialise Software and a 3D printer, producing models, surgical guides and Implants for a range of disciplines.

As this course has a duration of three years you will be issued with a one year contract which will be renewed on successful completion of each year. At the end of the third year on completion of your MSc you will be placed on a substantive contract.

As part of the selection process all shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake a practical test and interview. Informal visits are encouraged prior to interview.
