Chemotherapy Suite Leicester Royal Infirmary

We are looking for an ambitious nurse with experience at Band 6 level to join our team at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. An opportunity has arisen for a unit Sister/Charge Nurse on our Chemotherapy Suite.

University Hospitals of Leicester now hosts the Radiotherapy Delivery Network for the East Midlands.

It is one of the busiest Cancer centres in the UK caring for approximately 1.5 million population

We have launched assessment and accreditation for all in patient wards at UHL in addition to that we are working with the cancer collaborative to run a national programme linked to the national cancer patient survey in regards to patient experience.

We are very fortunate that all of our cancer wards and units have a high Friends and Family Test score and patient experience feedback is consistently at recommend or highly recommend

The chemotherapy suite is a day care area catering for around 250 patients per week. The Adult Chemotherapy Service includes delivery of chemotherapy and supportive drugs, monoclonal antibodies, oral chemotherapy and targeted agents as well as drugs within a clinical trials setting.

We are looking to recruit a highly skilled chemotherapy nurse with expert knowledge and advanced skills including extensive leadership experience that is committed making a difference to our patients and their families. As a role model, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high standard of patient centred care and along side the Lead Chemotherapy nurse developing nurse led services, provision of holistic needs assessments and care plans, supporting education and training, producing and reviewing relevant operational policies and protocols.

We are looking for a forward thinking individual who is willing to lead and develop patient care within this specialty – working to improve the patient experience. Be an effective role model, enthusiastic and motivated with the potential to develop into a strong leader. Team building and influencing skills are essential to support the team. You must have a proven track record of progressive leadership and development. Be an effective role model, self-motivated with the passion, drive and adaptability to cope with continuously changing services.
