Two posts 30 hours per week – The hours will be worked over two shifts Monday to Friday. Week 1 8am - 2pm and week 2 will be 11am - 5pm, but there will be times when flexibility is needed particularly during your first months of employment when you will need to attend training sessions and shadow other staff.

We are looking for 2 well-organised people with excellent interpersonal skills to work in our Call Centre. You will provide a point of contact for patients wishing to book or amend their outpatient appointment.

You will be the first point of contact for Patients, General Practitioners, Secretaries, Clinic Coordinators and other hospitals regarding outpatient appointments. A key aspect of these posts will be your ability to use your initiative to communicate with Outpatient Department staff and patients to ensure that appropriate action can be taken to resolve any problems.

It is essential that you have excellent communication skills and a very good telephone manner, together with GCSE English and accurate keyboard skills are essential. Recent experience of working in a Call Centre is desirable and an understanding of the NHS outpatient booking systems would be an advantage, although not essential, as full training will be given.

The opening hours of the Department are between 8am and 5pm.

A telephone test will be conducted prior to interview.
