An exciting opportunity has arisen for one ADHD nurse specialist (Non-Medical Prescriber) to work in a small, friendly children’s ADHD service in Workington, Cumbria. The position is open to all registered nurses who hold an Independent/supplementary prescribing qualification. Experience of working with children with ADHD is desirable.

The post holder will be expected to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment and follow up for children diagnosed with ADHD within a clinic setting, including supporting young people through transition in to adult services. In addition to this the post holder will run titration and follow up clinics on a weekly basis.

Excellent assessment, risk management, organizational and communication skills are essential along with the ability to use your initiative, manage your time effectively and work as part of a small team.

The post requires that you are a good communicator, and are able to adopt a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to your work.

In return you will benefit from encouragement to continue to develop your own specialist knowledge and competence. Your development will be guided using clinical supervision, operational supervision, team/peer support, training opportunities and using the Trust’s appraisal process
