Apprentice Healthcare Science (Neurophysiology) – 2 posts

Salary :Year 1 - £150 per week, Year 2 & 3 – National minimum wage

Hours: 37.5hours/week

3 Year fixed-term contract

We are seeking two motivated and enthusiastic individuals who will work closely within the Neurophysiology team providing diagnostic investigations for patients with a wide range of disorders.

Based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, our Department provides a regional service, and offers a comprehensive range of investigations including routine, sleep and portable EEG recording. More specialised techniques (ambulatory recording, Paediatric Video Telemetry) are also frequently undertaken. The Department also provides a Multi-modality EP service for Neurology, Physiologist led CTS clinics & clinician led EMG/NCS.

If you are scientifically minded with appropriate qualifications this is an ideal opportunity for you to study, train and develop. These posts require individuals who are enthusiastic, well-motivated, possess excellent communication and organisational skills as well as a keen eye for detail, and the ability to accurately record and analyse information.

These posts are on a 3 year fixed-term contract to start on £150/week, which will increase to national minimum wage in years 2 and 3. You will attend university on a block release basis gaining a BSc in Healthcare Science (Neurophysiology). NO tuition fees to pay at the end of your course and get paid while studying!

Entry Requirements:

A-levels x3 – BBB, including Biology; or BTEC Extended Diploma or 120 UCAS Tariff points from three A-levels or equivalent qualifications including an A-level grade B equivalent in Biology and GCSEs - English and Maths minimum grade C/4.
