We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic in-patient General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our established Adult Mental Health team in Portsmouth. The post covers The Orchards Inpatient unit and is there to provide clinical expertise and leadership to the teams.

This is one of three consultant posts covering the inpatient wards with the post holder retiring.

The successful applicant will take a key role in the Adult Psychiatry service, providing clinical leadership in which they will be working and supporting current and future service developments. This post offers a varied job working closely with the multidisciplinary team. We put a high emphasis on quality of care, peer support and on clinical engagement in service development and management.

We have two In-patient consultant posts and this post would cover one geographical sector of the city, with caseloads matched to ensure parity between the posts.

The successful candidate will be interested in teaching and supervision and be committed to improving quality and service development. The trust is committed and successful with respect to clinical excellence, CPD and audit. We offer support with training and personal development.
