You will be a core member of the team developing and implementing local services and care pathways. We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a) to work in, help develop and promote the CAMHS Learning Disability pathway. This post offers an excellent opportunity to be part of two dynamic and supportive teams (CAMHS and LD) with support from the wider Solent Child Psychology team. There is peer support, regular team supervision meetings, group and individual clinical supervision and regular line management meetings. This post will involve work across both the CAMHS clinical site, the SEND 0-25 team based at the Civic Offices and community based work.

The post holder will be a senior clinician within the teams and have responsibilities for service development and supporting and supervising staff to deliver psychological services to children, young people and their families. You would need to have good organisational skills, clinical assessment/problem solving skills and to quickly be able to gain a good rapport with people from a range of backgrounds. Collaborative working with a range of professionals is an important part of this post and it is essential you can work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The ability to work both within individual and group-based therapeutic programs of care is also required.

The essential qualities we are looking for in our Clinical Psychologist (CAMHS Learning Disabilities) applicants are:

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, as accredited by the BPS and HCPC registration
  • Post-qualification experience of working with children and young people who present with complex presentation, e.g. mental health difficulties and learning disability
  • Excellent communication skills
