We are looking for a full or part time registered nurse who is passionate about providing and leading on providing excellent patient care as a Deputy Sister/ Charge nurse for the Emergency Floor; Short Stay Unit.

The Short Stay Unit is part of the admission avoidance floor and works closely with emergency and assessment departments at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. It is a fast paced medical unit where a wealth of experience can be gained.

As well as being a Short Stay unit for a variety of medical presentations and treatments we also take direct admissions from the emergency department. The emphasis on the unit is to provide a quality short stay experience for patients.

As well as being caring and compassionate a desire to care for the acute patient both medically and psychologically is essential to lead by example in challenging clinical situations.

Excellent communication skills and organisation of own workload would also be required to enable you support your own team with development and retention on the unit as well as covering the unit in the absence of the ward sister.
