The Great Western Hospital is an attractive new building set on the outskirts of the busy and popular town of Swindon. The hospital has excellent travel links: 5 minutes by car to Junction 15 of the M4. The town is on the main rail line between Bristol and London Paddington with travel times of less than one hour to either.

At the Great Western Hospital we have all of the facilities you would expect to find in a busy general hospital including an Emergency Department, Delivery Suite, a full range of diagnostics tests such as X-ray, MRI and CT scans, outpatient clinics and 21 inpatient wards.

Our priority whether you are cared for in hospital or in the community is to provide safe, high quality health services and we have an impressive track record on issues such as patient safety and infection control.

We are looking for doctors of all grades to work across a wide range of specialities. Please indicate what speciality you would like to work in your application form.

The set rate of pay is:

F1 £25 per/hr

F2 £35 per/ hr

SHO £40 per/hr

Reg/Specialty Doctor £50 per/hr

All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period, with the exception of medical and dental candidates.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates are required to pay for their own DBS check where applicable. Standard DBS check costs £26 and will be recovered from the first months pay; Enhanced DBS check costs £44 and will be recovered over the first 2 months pay. (£22 per month)

Bank posts requiring a DBS check; payment must be made prior to commencing.

Apprentices are exempt from DBS payment.
