Great Western Hospital Apprenticeships offers you a work placement for Eighteen months within Delivery Suite and Hazel Ward based at Great Western Hospital in Swindon, working within a dedicated area of the organisation; working towards a level 3 apprenticeship in Business administration.

We are looking to recruit motivated, high quality individuals to join our apprenticeship programme at Great Western Hospital. With support from managers, you will be an effective member of the team gaining valuable experience whilst undertaking a programme of further education and development as part of the apprenticeship.

Patient Coordinator Apprentice

We have a dedicated team based in the Academy, which is the Trust’s learning and development centre that will support you in your apprenticeship programme. They will work very closely with you and your manager to provide a comprehensive development plan detailing your objectives and workplace goals. You will be employed on a fixed term contract on 37.5 hours per week, which will include night/day shifts, weekends and bank holidays. You will be paid at the national hourly rate (age dependent) with time for personal study towards the apprenticeship framework. You will also be entitled to Annual Leave Holiday inclusive of public holidays.

If you are shortlisted you will be invited to an interview which includes literacy & numeracy assessments. You will be expected to complete the formal training elements of the programme and must not hold a NVQ level 3 or higher in business administration.

All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period, with the exception of medical and dental candidates.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates are required to pay for their own DBS check where applicable. Standard DBS check costs £26 and will be recovered from the first months pay; Enhanced DBS check costs £44 and will be recovered over the first 2 months pay. (£22 per month)

Bank posts requiring a DBS check; payment must be made prior to commencing.

Apprentices are exempt from DBS payment.
