Band 5 - Theatre Practitioner / Orthopaedic Scrub

An exciting opportunity has arisen for both newly qualified and experienced Practitioners to join our busy Theatres Team.

At the Great Western Hospital we have 15 main operating theatres undertaking a range of inpatient and day surgery procedures. The department also provides a 24 hour emergency cover service for surgery and anesthetic assistance in satellite areas within the hospital.

As a key member of the Theatres team you will participate in the delivery of high quality care to patients throughout their operative experience, ensuring at all times that utmost regard is given to patient dignity, safety, values, individuality, religion and confidentiality.

Applications are invited from motivated and enthusiastic practitioners who have a 1st or 2nd level NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner qualification.

As a staff nurse or ODP within Theatres we will offer you:

You would participate in the delivery of high quality care to patients throughout their operative experience, ensuring at all times that utmost regard is given to patient dignity, safety, values, individuality , religion and confidentiality.

Will practice at all times in accordance with your professional body and code of conduct.

Good communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to lead a team are necessary.

All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period, with the exception of medical and dental candidates.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates are required to pay for their own DBS check where applicable. Standard DBS check costs £26 and will be recovered from your first pay; Enhanced DBS check costs £44 and will be split and recovered over the first 2 pay.

Bank posts requiring a DBS check; payment must be made prior to commencing.

Apprentices are exempt from payment.
