Solent Neurological Rehabilitation Services

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Neuro Rehab services in Southampton.

Our rotations include: Snowdon Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team, Neuro Early Supported Discharge Services.

The clinical teams are located in Solent’s Western Community Hospital and provide rehabilitation to patientsin the Southampton city and surrounding Hampshire region.

The successful post holder will have the opportunity to rotate round all three clinical areas in 1.5 year rotations treating mixed neurology, ABI and stroke caseloads. The post holder will deliverindividualised programs of rehabilitation including cognitive therapy, you will work closely with the other occupational therapists within the service and other multidisciplinary team members including Rehabilitation Consultants, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists, Rehabilitation Assistants, social workers and Administrative support.

The service is part of the Solent Neurological Rehabilitation Services and you will be supported by Team leaders and Service Leads, you receive professional specific and CPD support from band 7 or 8a Occupational therapists within the service.

The post holder will have at least 2 years post graduate experience which would include some specific stroke/neurological clinical experience and evidence of working within a MDT and experience of service improvement projects or audits, this is a training post you will be supported to develop specialist neurological rehabilitation skills.

Full Driving Licence and access to a car for community visits is essential.This is a full time vacancy (37.5 hours per week) and your working pattern will cover some weekends and bank holidays.
