Hampton Therapy Support worker

Band 3

Hampton Suite

Hours 7.30- 3.30 / 11.00 – 7pm (inclusive of weekends)

The Hampton Suite is a 23 bedded mixed sex unit dedicated to the short term rehabilitation of patients with a range of conditions.

You will be joining a supportive Multi Disciplinary Team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Nurses. You will be supervised by the Therapists and Nurses on daily basis.

The successful post holder will be responsible for providing therapeutic activities and education to patients to promote their on-going well-being. This will include washing and dressing assessments and hot drink assessments whilst working alongside the multi-disciplinary team. They will provide a lead on running the wards breakfast, lunch and dinner clubs. The post holder will facilitate activities in the wards day room.

The applicants must have previous health care experience and a sound knowledge of the roles of the multidisciplinary team including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and staff nurses. The applicants must be committed to providing a high quality care to the client group.

The post holder will be able to work independently on their own initiative and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to motivate patients to participate in activities to promote their well-being to prevent de conditioning whilst in hospital. The post holder will be able to provide clear and concise documentation on the care they have provided including liaising with families and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
