Personal Assistant to the Specialist Palliative Care Psychology & Bereavement Service based at Rowans Hospice – Band 4 - 15 Hours Per week – This is a Job Share with another Post Holder

We are looking for an experienced applicant, who is passionate about supporting excellent patient care, to join the Specialist Palliative Care Psychology & Bereavement Service in a part-time role as Personal Assistant to the team.

This post is for 2 days per week and will be part of a Job Share with an established post-holder who is reducing their hours from full-time to 3 days per week. During induction there will be the opportunity to work alongside the established post-holder so that you can learn the role.

The SPC Psychology & Bereavement Service is delivered through a partnership between Solent NHS Trust and Rowans Hospice. This post will be employed by Solent NHS Trust and based at Rowans Hospice.

The role involves providing Personal Assistant support to the Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Service Lead and6 other clinicians and includes: managing the working diaries of 7 busy clinicians (which includes managing clinical commitments, attendance at MDT meetings, supervision sessions, teaching sessions); overseeing the service’s referral process; managing the waiting list and related communication with patients and referrers; daily interaction with patients who have life-limiting illness, as well as with patient’s carers, and with people who are bereaved, to organise therapy appointments; recording and reporting on service activity data; writing up the complex psychological reports produced by clinicians; taking minutes at team meetings and other meetings as required; liaising with other healthcare professionals on behalf of the team; and providing the administration for certain teaching initiatives.

You will have weekly 1:1 meetings with the Service Lead and with other clinicians as needed.
