OPEN DAY – Operating Department Practitioners (ODP), Newly Qualified and Qualified Staff Nurses.

Bring your ambition to life

We are one of the largest NHS Trusts in the West Midlands region and aim to provide the best care to our patients. We are looking for caring, compassionate and self-motivated nurses and ODPs, who want to help us achieve our ambition in being renowned as the best integrated care organisation in the NHS.

Come along to our Open Day where you will have the opportunity to learn about our Trust, and how we support our employees to bring their ambition to life.

We offer flexible working hours, excellent training programmes and exclusive staff benefits.

Interviews will take place on the day, and those candidates who are successful, will be given an on-the-spot conditional job offer.

We currently have a number of vacancies for nurses and ODPs in the following clinical groups:

  • Medicine and Emergency Care

  • Primary Care, Community and Therapies

  • Women’s and Child Health

  • Surgical Services

Why should you join our award-winning nursing teams?

We have bespoke training programmes for nurses at all levels. When joining our teams, whether you are a newly qualified nurse or a registered nurse who has decided to come back to the NHS, you can be reassured that you will be guided by our dedicated and experienced professional development nurses, the nurse education team and the nursing management teams.

Our Trust is best known for its multiple award-winning staff benefits programme. We work with local providers to offer many discounts that can help employees save more than £1,000 a year. We also have a free gym for staff on site at Sandwell, as well a number of in-house health and wellbeing programmes. To find out more, go to Staff Benefits Packages in the additional information section.

Newly qualified nurses (NQN), prior to receiving their PIN, will start on a band 4 salary and in addition to that, their first year registration fee will be paid for by the Trust.

We are also offering a 'like-for-like' relocation package for successful candidates. To find out whether you are eligible for this package, please read more in the additional information section.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team who will be helping to shape the future of patient care.

Why should you join our Theatres team?

Theatres are currently based over three sites, with 23 operating theatres that provide elective and emergency services. The department offers a wide choice of specialties including Trauma and Orthopaedics, Ear Nose and Throat, Oral, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Vascular, Plastics, Breast Surgery, and Urology for employees to work within.

We are committed to providing a supportive environment, which focuses on providing staff the opportunity to develop and progress through our theatre development pathways. We offer newly qualified, registered nurses, ODPs and skilled theatre practitioners opportunities to progress from band 5 upwards within the department.

Apply now:

  1. Apply online and let us know which three specialties interest you most on your application form (in the ’supporting information’ section), so that we can match you to the right department.

  2. Give us a call as soon as possible on 0121 507 5070 and book your interview slot at the open day (last booking is 3pm, Friday, 30 November).
