Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

We deliver services to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our 5500 staff serve a population of one million from over 100 sites across the region.

Our service are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated Band 6 Dietitians who will deliver a dietetic prescribing support service funded by the three Clinical Commissioning Groups in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR). This is an exciting new development which will build on existing strong links with the Medicines Optimisation Teams aiming to embed the dietetic service within the primary care teams in each locality.

Each post holder will be in a team of 4 Dietitians and Dietetic Support Workers working as a member of the Medicines Optimisation Team in one of the CCGs and will work with these teams, GPs and practice staff to ensure oral nutritional supplements (ONS) are used effectively and the Leicestershire Medicines Strategy Group ONS guidelines are followed. It will involve working in GP surgeries in one of the CCG localities to undertake nutritional assessment and ongoing review of patients currently having prescribed ONS and providing advice and support to practice staff on appropriate prescribing of ONS. It will also involve working in care homes across the locality with responsibility for the clinical input, training, service evaluations and developments in delegated care homes.

There are several posts based in different locations across the city and county; geographical preferences will be taken into account where possible.

In addition to these 4 permanent posts there are some fixed term 2 year posts and we will aim to recruit to these posts from the advert too.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.

To make the most of your application, we may consider successful applicants for vacancies for the same post in different locations where this is appropriate and meets our mutual requirements.

For all substantive roles the appointment of every new member of staff (excluding medical and dental staff) to a post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, details of which are in our Probation Policy.
