Solent NHS Trust is proud to offer an exciting opportunity to study for the Learning Disability Nursing Degree through a four year apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are a key way for people to learn on the job and allow the learner to gain a qualification whilst continuing to earn.

Solent NHS Trust will work in partnership with Winchester University to provide the apprenticeship, including study days, a variety of clinical placements and a home placement with Solent NHS Trust Learning disability service, where you will work as a healthcare support worker.

We would love to hear from individuals who are self-motivated, patient, have good communication skills and are passionate about ensuring that people with Learning Disabilities receive excellent care, supported in their decision making and lead fulfilling and satisfying lives.

As a community Trust we support patients and service users out of multiple sites and cover a wide geographic area; it is therefore essential that applicants have a current driving licence and are willing to travel in order to deliver great care.

You will start as a Band 2 and progress through to Band 5 upon completion of the degree and when are you registered with the NMC.

We are looking to conduct interviews in February for the successful candidate to start the apprenticeship in September 2020.
