We are looking for an enthusiastic General Manager to lead the East Midlands Congenital Heart Center (EMCHC), Children's intensive care, ECMO and CoMET which is currently based cross site at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the Glenfield Hospital.

Following the fantastic news that EMCHC will continue to be commissioned to provide Level 1 surgical and interventional services we can now look forward to the growth and development necessary to make our service the center of choice for the patients in the East Midlands .

In order to meet the CHD standards on collocation of paediatric services we have an exciting plan to move from the Glenfield Hospital to our main Leicester Royal Infirmary site and create a new bespoke Children's Hospital by July 2019 . The project for this work is well underway and is a fantastic opportunity for the Congenital Heart Disease team to craft how they will work with their paediatric colleagues into the future .

This is an excellent career development opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who wishes to work as the General manager. You should be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal and communication skills and have the ability to forge and maintain relationships with a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff, the ability to build, develop and lead effective teams, work to tight deadlines with a ‘can do’ attitude.

The post holder is responsible for helping ensure that national and local targets are delivered, that the quality of care is of the highest standard and that resources within the service are managed efficiently and effectively.

EMCHC is home to the largest ECMO centre in the U.K. and the only mobile ECMO service we work hand in hand with this extraordinary team and are renown for training and research in this area.

This is a crucial role and an opportunity for someone to help support exciting developments within our growing service.

The role will need strong leadership abilities and you must have excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail - being able to inspire individuals and lead a team.
