As our Interface Developer, you’ll join our highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team of developers, designers, user researchers and delivery managers, working on a variety of challenging projects that will improve new and existing products, platforms and transactions across NHSBT. You’ll lead on interface development, building on Umbraco CMS-based websites as well as other business web apps, at the same time enhancing our component library and defining the technology stack that we’ll adopt across the board. Leading others is also an important part of the role, as you’ll be a subject matter expert within NHSBT on all interface-related issues and provide specialist training on emerging UI technologies for other developers and solution architects.

As part of the role, you’ll occasionally be required to travel and spend time away from the workplace, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays.

We’re looking for experienced developers with a strong background in the design, development and evaluation lifecycle for digital products, apps, sites and services. You should have a specialist knowledge of software tools and techniques required to build interfaces, as well as skills in HTML5, CSS 3, SASS, Bootstrap 3&4, Gulp and Visual Studio. Experience using JavaScript, AJAX and JQuery is also essential, along with an excellent understanding of version control methodologies. Mobile app experience and familiarity with Umbraco 7 is desirable but not essential.

Communication and collaboration skills are also vital, and you should be able to motivate others towards high performance while delivering at pace and balancing multiple priorities. You should have a degree or post-graduate qualification in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant subject.
