Band 3 Therapy Link Worker posts for The Willows (Adult Mental Health Rehabilitation).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual, who has previous experience of working within a healthcare environment and experience of organising activities to join the Occupational Therapy team at the Willows.

The role will involve developing and delivering activities with inpatients which promote wellbeing, skill development and support patient’s discharge planning. It will be essential to develop therapeutic relationships with an often challenging and demanding group of people who will be experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and complex needs.

You will be working within a team of 3 Occupational Therapists and 3 Therapy Link Workers, alongside the multi-disciplinary team, in providing 1:1 and group interventions both within the inpatient rehabilitation unit and within the community setting. This role also includes working alongside other agencies, such as supporting patients to access voluntary and educational opportunities.

You will need to be creative in ensuring that the programme of activities is responsive to patient’s needs, and is effective in promoting recovery. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of mental health issues, communication skills and the impact these could have on a person’s ability to engage in activities aimed at promoting independent living and improved quality of life experiences.

You will need to react to and manage changing situations and be perceptive to subtle changes in service user’s presentations. Additionally you will also be expected to provide accurate verbal and written information and contribute to team meetings

The successful candidates will be supervised by an Occupational Therapist and work within the Occupational therapy philosophy.

Training and supervision will be provided.
