Service Implementation Manager

In this key role, you will provide vital support to an IT Service Manager and business stakeholders with respect to change evaluation and change management activities ensuring the impact of change requests are fully understood and planned for accordingly. You’ll also be responsible for the release and deployment planning and execution of new versions of software and underpinning technologies within NHS Blood and Transplant working alongside business, project, ICT teams and external suppliers.

 

This is a varied post with a remit that means a new and interesting challenge is always around the corner. Your responsibilities will range from supporting service validation and testing, informing the planning and execution of service continuity testing, through to creating go live checklists and release plans. In particular, you’ll support planning and completion of transition into ongoing run for new services or where significant change is being made to existing service, including early life support for the business and documentation and training for our Service Desk and IT Operations teams. Along the way, you’ll work closely with a range of colleagues, suppliers and specialist internal teams.

 

To be equal to the challenge, you will need a proven, relevant professional track record in the operational implementation of IT solutions alongside a desire to make a difference for a Special Health Authority that is dedicated to saving and improving lives.

 

Out of hours working will be required on an ad-hoc basis.

 

The successful candidate may be based either Birmingham or Barnsley, final location to be agreed at interview. Please note for Barnsley, from May/June 2020 you will be based at our new purpose-built site in Barnsley which is just off Junction 37 of the M1. In the meantime, you will be based from Sheffield or Leeds for which you may be eligible to claim expenses for the duration of this temporary arrangement.
