We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist at Solent NHS Trust working as part of the Medicines Management Team, based in our Southampton locality.

The Medicines Management Team supports the aims of the CCGs to improve the health of the population by optimising the use of medicines through:

  • Promoting the safe, evidence based and cost-effective use of medicines

  • Providing up to date, unbiased information about medicines, treatments and care pathways

  • Supporting practitioners and patients to make best use of medicines

  • Minimising the harm caused by medicines

  • Developing local guidelines and care pathways to optimise the management of conditions

  • Collaborating with local hospital trusts and other healthcare providers to support these aims

You will be part of an engaging, interactive and supportive team working across the Trust to ensure the safety of our patients. Patients depend on us to help maintain health, prevent illness, manage chronic conditions and treat disease. Medicines are an important part of what the NHS does to help patients and are a precious resource.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person with a willingness to learn and develop their skills in a busy working environment. The ideal candidate will have a warm and friendly approachable personality and will work well with others to communicate with people confidently and effectively. You will have a good level of education including English Language along with excellent organisational, IT and communication skills. In addition to these skills you will need to be able to work alongside healthcare professionals in both inpatient and community settings, and to work collaboratively with other local healthcare providers in the area where necessary. You will use your knowledge and experience to ensure that patients under our care get the medicines and medicines advice they need to effectively manage their health.
