The Lung Clearance Index Core facility is a research group within the Cystic Fibrosis and Chronic Lung Infection department with Professor Jane Davies. Professor Jane Davies and Clare Saunders have vast experience in paediatric respiratory physiology, providing a global service for the novel lung clearance index test.

A Respiratory Physiologist post has become available within the busy lung clearance index (LCI) core facility; the main purpose will be to perform tasks within the LCI core facility, including qualification of LCI operators and over reading of LCI traces sent in from a number of European and Worldwide cystic fibrosis centres participating in innovative clinical trials. This candidate will also provide training for colleagues as well as operators at global cystic fibrosis centres.

The candidate must have a BSc, BTEC or equivalent qualification in a scientific subject. They should have experience in working with children as well as patients within a healthcare setting. The candidate must also communicate well with others, be adept with computers and have good organisational skills.

The contract is a one year full time, fixed term contract, with potential for extension post this period.
