Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is embarking on one of the largest and most high-profile investment, transformation and regeneration programmes in the City and the wider region.  Its Building the Leeds Way Programme aims to transform healthcare for patients in Leeds and the wider region.  The investment Programme includes:

 

  • Hospitals of the Future Project - the construction of two new hospitals at the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) site – one for adults and the other a brand new home for the Leeds Children’s Hospital

     

  • Pathology Project - developing a new Pathology laboratory at the St James’s University Hospital (SJUH) site that will support patients in Leeds and across West Yorkshire and Harrogate

     

  • Innovation District - the regeneration of c.5 hectares of land and buildings to further support the establishment of an Innovation District in the heart of Leeds City Centre.  This will be a mixed-use development that will establish a world-class hub for health research and medical related technology, digital, innovation and entrepreneurialism as well as clinical based education, research and the establishment of a new learning hub.

     

    It’s a major change programme that reflects Leeds Teaching Hospitals’ vision and status as one of the largest and highest performing hospital trusts in the United Kingdom.

     

    To make this happen the Trust is seeking to recruit talented individuals who can bring innovation, creativity and collaboration to a Programme that will create a legacy for the City of Leeds and the wider region.  Specifically, the Trust is seeking to recruit a Programme Office Manager.  This post is a once in a lifetime job opportunity and to be part of something that will make a real difference.

     

    The Building the Leeds Way (“BtLW”) Programme Office Manager shall be responsible for the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive Programme Management function across all aspects of the BtLW Programme and which may also include other directly related aspects of the Programme.  Reporting directly to the Programme Director, the BtLW Programme Office Manager shall be responsible for the development, management and co-ordination of programming, reporting, risk, benefits, assurance, and quality standards.  The Programme Office Manager shall be a senior post within the BtLW Programme Team and working with Programme/Project Workstream Leads and other senior officers, shall be responsible for identifying and reporting against key metrics, the preparation of reports and ultimately the development and implementation of high quality standards ensuring that the Programme is managed effectively.

     

    We are looking for a Programme Office Manager with the experience of managing complex programmes that have impacted across organisations and externally.  You will demonstrate experience and an understanding of managing complex programmes and projects within a capital projects environment.  You must have experience of having established, led and managed Programme Office functions and experience of developing and implementing robust programme and project management processes.  You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.

If you are offered a position, you may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
