Are you a qualified Advanced Practitioner at Masters level with significant post registration current or continuous experience? Do you have experience of training and supervising post registration nurses/paramedics? Are you looking to use your skills in autonomy and complex decision- making in a different way? Are you able to work flexibly to meet the needs of our service, working shifts across our various bases which open 7 days a week, day and night?

If any of these apply to you then this could be the role for you.

NEMS are growing and are excited to be offering the opportunity to recruit registered clinicians to clinically assess patients face to face in our Out of Hours Service, the urgent care service within NUH QMC Urgent Treatment Unit (UTU) and the Primary Care 24/ED Stream service (PC24), at Kings Mill Hospital. The Advanced Clinical Practitioner is expected to work in all care settings as an autonomous practitioner and assume clinical leadership when required, providing complete care of patients with undifferentiated needs, ensuring appropriate prioritisation, diagnosis and clinical management, prescribing independently and performing clinical procedures without direct supervision, and supervising and supporting other clinical staff.

At UTU there is a GP and 2 or 3 Nurse Practitioners on each shift. PC24 is a Nurse-led Service during the “in hours” period. PC24 also operates a pathways service for PV bleeds and suspected DVT. Both sites offer challenging yet rewarding work. Every day is different and we are continually learning from our wide spectrum of patient presentations. The team are high performing, good humoured and above all else supportive. Sharing and open communication is encouraged and we recognise diverse experiences. There is opportunity to take an active role in the teams’ quality and direction.

If you are an energetic, and committed health care professional there are opportunities for you at NEMS. The work is well paid with opportunities for training and development, formal and informal. There are flexible working patterns and excellent support services, staff are valued and appreciated.

So if you are an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner with evidenced post registration experience, an independent prescriber and have worked in Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, acute hospital, chronic, community, or out-of-hospital service and are confident about working autonomously, then we’d love to hear from you. You will also be highly motivated and proactive in developing the Practitioners working alongside you so will be knowledgeable about current clinical and professional developments as well as the NHS Urgent and Primary Care services agenda.

NEMS CBS is a high quality, high performing; not-for-profit organisation which delivers integrated urgent care and primary care services to around 1 million patients. Responsive, adaptable and continually evolving, we have a reputation for delivering locally-tailored, safe, effective and cost efficient services with high levels of patient satisfaction.
