Band 5 / 6 Midwives

These positions will provide the opportunity to enhance your clinical knowledge and skills in a welcoming and supportive environment that is committed to Improving Working Lives and staff development. Additionally, a preceptorship programme is in place for those new to the Midwife role.

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has Maternity Services based in Swindon at a midwife led co-located birth Centre and a Consultant Led Acute Unit delivering care to 4100 women each year...

Midwifery Bank

 

We are also recruiting Midwives of all levels to join our Midwifery Bank. The Midwifery Bank plays an essential role in ensuring that we have staff in place for all of our shifts and are very much valued members of the team.

 

Whether you are looking for a few extra hours, or to simply work more hours around your own schedule, we would be delighted to hear from you. As an essential part of the Midwifery team, all Bank Midwives are included in our training programmes and will be allocated a Supervisor to ensure your continued professional development.

All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period, with the exception of medical and dental candidates.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates are required to pay for their own DBS check where applicable. Standard DBS check costs £26 and will be recovered from your first pay; Enhanced DBS check costs £44 and will be split and recovered over the first 2 pay.

Bank posts requiring a DBS check; payment must be made prior to commencing.

Apprentices are exempt from payment.
