Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is embarking on one of the largest and most high-profile investment, transformation and regeneration programmes in the City and the wider region.  It’s Building the Leeds Way Programme aims to transform healthcare for patients in Leeds and the wider region.  The investment Programme includes:


  • The construction of two new hospitals at the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) Site – one for adults and the other a brand new home for the Leeds Children’s Hospital


  • Developing a new Pathology laboratory at the St James’s University Hospital (SJUH) site that will support patients  in Leeds and across West Yorkshire and Harrogate


  • The regeneration of 5 hectares of land and buildings to further support the establishment of an Innovation District in the heart of Leeds City Centre - a world-class hub for health research, and medical related, technology, digital, innovation and entrepreneurialism as well as clinical based education, research and the establishment of a new learning hub


    It’s a major change programme that reflects Leeds Teaching Hospitals’ vision and status as one of the largest and highest performing hospital trusts in the United Kingdom.


    To make this happen, the Trust is seeking to recruit talented individuals who can bring innovation, creativity and collaboration to a Programme that will create a legacy for the City of Leeds and the wider region.  Specifically, the Trust is seeking to recruit a Pathology Business Change Manager.  This post is a once in a lifetime job opportunity and to be part of something that will make a real difference.


    The Pathology Business Change Lead shall provide support to the Pathology Triumvirate Team in the development, planning, co-ordination and delivery of the Business Change required to transition to the new Pathology Facility.  The Business Change Lead shall work with Pathology service specialties and strategic partners to plan and deliver programmes of work that will ensure the service progressively moves to a state of readiness to transition to the new facilities and function as part of an integrated West Yorkshire & Harrogate Pathology Network.  It is expected that the Pathology Business Change Manager shall contribute to the development and implementation of a range of Projects across the CSU as directed by the Programme Director and Pathology CSU Management Team and shall also contribute to the change required in order to establish a new acute services laboratory at the LGI site.


    We are looking for an experienced business change manager who has operated at a senior level and who has experience of working within a pathology / laboratory environment. The candidate will have a proven track record in leading change within an environment to support the transition to new ways of working.  You must have excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across the Trust and with strategic partners.

If you are offered a position, you may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
