Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse

Are you an experienced Critical Care Nurse? Are you looking to develop your expertise in leadership in a progressive, dynamic and friendly Critical Care Unit?

The General Adult Critical Care Unit at University Hospitals Bristol currently has one full time substantive Band 6 post and one fixed term 30 hours post until November 2020 vacancies.

The unit is a tertiary referral centre with 21 beds providing expert care for many specialities including medical and surgical patients, Oncology, Haematology, elective and emergency admissions. We see over 1300 patients a year and are a high performing unit with a digital bedside clinical information system.

We are a large, diverse team, who pride ourselves on our positive, welcoming attitude and valuing the contribution of all our staff and we currently require Band 6 nurses to join our team here.

The unit also has a team of Critical Care Practice Educators in place to support development and education of all staff. We are a highly motivated multidisciplinary team committed to giving excellent patient care.

As a Band 6 Nurse you would be responsible for supporting the overall daily management of the Critical Care Unit, co-ordinating and leading clinical shifts, providing direct patient care. You will also lead and participate with projects to enable us to give the excellent care we currently provide. The Band 6 role includes rotation onto nights and weekends.

If you feel you can bring excellent leadership and clinical skills, have experience of working within Adult Critical Care and would thrive working within a busy and challenging unit then the post of Senior Staff Nurse is for you.
