Band 3 MDT Administrative Officer

A vacancy has arisen for a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Administrative Officer which would be ideal for someone who would like to gain more experience in the cancer or informatics field.

Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT’s) have evolved over the last few years with the remit to discuss and plan care for all patients with a diagnosis of known or suspected cancer. The post-holder will be expected to help prepare, organise and support MDT meetings to ensure patient pathways are progressed. This includes preparing, producing and disseminating lists of patients for discussion and capturing accurate data during the MDT, including live typing, to support the process.

The successful applicant will ultimately be trained to cover a range of MDT’s and act as cover for annual leave and sickness. You will play an important part in tracking the patient journey from the point of suspicion or diagnosis of cancer to treatment and be responsible for ensuring the required datasets are collated, accurately entered and monitored effectively to comply with local and national expectations and standards in terms of the Cancer Outcomes & Services Dataset (COSD), Cancer Waiting Times, Chemotherapy and National Audit data.

The post-holder will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills; be able to work well under pressure and on their own initiative. We require an individual with administrative experience, competent IT skills and strong attention to detail.

You will also contribute to the preparation of key documentation and collating of evidence as part of an Annual Assessment of Service Provision in line with National Peer Review Measures. You will work closely with Clinicians, Specialist Nurses, Secretaries and all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and with associated Departments to ensure that patients on a Cancer Pathway are actively managed through the Patient Pathway.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require current Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the current Resident Labour Market Test which will be in place until the end of December 2020. UK Visas and Immigration requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, have had to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) are also subject to this requirement.
